Katelynn Noel Knick’s works explode in a prism of vibrant exuberance. You can almost feel her paintings more than you see them. Each one has a presence of its own. She commands emotions as colors to dance frenetically across her canvases as if mischievous fauns looking for someone to play with. Her work draws you in. You feel as if you could step into her work and live inside this dream-like world for a time. While her talent translates beautifully across works big and small, it seems as if, the larger a composition is, the more comfortable it is with itself. While at times whimsical, playful, and many times joyous, Katelynn exhibits a maturity in her craft that elevates her expressions beyond the elementary.
Beyond her own work, Katelyn spends much of her time elevating other artists by equipping them and amplifying their work. She is a leader and pioneer in her own right not just in OKC but to creatives across the nation through her organization ART FRIENDS. She is quick to share her knowledge and her passion for the arts is contagious.

BIO:
Katelynn Noel Knick is an artist based in Oklahoma City, OK. She received her BFA in Studio Art from the University of Oklahoma in 2015. She has exhibited solo projects at the Ft. Smith Regional Art Museum, Myriad Botanical Gardens, ahha Tulsa, and MAINSITE Contemporary Art and has been featured in the Oklahoma Gazette, The Coastal Post, Inspiring Conversations Podcast, Art Focus Oklahoma Magazine, and All She Makes magazine. She is the founder of ART FRIENDS, a platform dedicated to supporting emerging artists through community, support, and growth.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
I create immersive spaces and scenes that invite the viewer into the work through playful shapes, whimsical lines, and color. I’m inspired by movement, blending the natural and the abstract, ethereal dream-like spaces, and the meditative process of capturing and processing wonder, beauty, and energetic expression. I want the viewer to feel connected to my work through an energetic pull that invites them to feel, process, and connect to the energy in the work.
My work flows between mediums, form, size, and space allowing the work to expand and explore without restrictions. My style of making is process-driven and intuitive, often layering different mediums and marks. I use acrylics, colored pencils, glazes, sanding, puffy paint, and other mediums to create depth and layers of textures that dance in the light, encouraging the viewer to interact and spend time moving and observing the painting up close and from afar.
