On Nov. 5 of 2021, Rally and Lively Beerworks awarded Traci Hayes the Curator’s Choice for The Lively Show 2021. This work was chosen by Guest Curator Ebony Iman Dallas from over 50 works that were juried into the exhibition. This first annual iteration of the juried art show, awarded her a cash prize as well as featuring her art on an upcoming Lab Series beer for her work entitled, The Glass Tree. This colorful rendering of a tree was created with alcohol inks on synthetic paper mounted on a cradleboard and finished with a layer of resin.

Traci had this to say about her first Lively Show experience, “My artwork will be on a beer can. How freaking cool is that! It is such a unique experience and to have it be on Lively’s beer is even better. When you meet the group of people at Lively Beerworks, you can tell they appreciate art and have a genuine excitement about local artists.”

We want to celebrate Traci Hayes on winning her spot on this special collaboration between Rally and Lively Beerworks!

The Glass Tree Lab Series beer is a limited one-off Belgian quad-style brew that rolls in at a hefty 10% abv.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am drawn to bold colors. A lot of my pieces are abstract and created by moving ink around with consistent airflow. I also use the ethereal blends created by this method as backgrounds for pieces with flowers, trees and landscapes. I like painting common things found in nature like a tree but making it full of playful colors.

about the lively show

The Lively Show 2021 was Lively Beerworks first annual celebration of the awesome creative community in the Oklahoma City Region. This juried art show selected 55 works to be exhibited in the production area turned high-end exhibit space. Guest Curator, Ebony Iman Dallas painstakingly evaluated each piece. In the end, she selected The Glass Tree by Traci Hayes as her choice for the big prize, The Curator’s Choice Award. Rally awarded cash prizes also to honorable mentions to Bianca Roland’s Om Ganesha and Gentry Leach’s Mirage. Over both nights of the two-night event every viewer was able to cast a vote for The Viewer’s Choice award and Gentry Leach’s Mirage won this cash award as well. All in all it was a huge success, it was greater than we could have ever expected. Our hearts are still warmed with thoughts of those surreal nights. One attendee shared with us “I never thought I would see something like this happen in OKC. I only see these things when I go to L.A.”

We are excited to share with you that we are already planning for a bigger and better Lively Show 2022! Details are yet to be announced, but we will keep you informed. Get those submissions ready. Our goal is to double our exhibition and show over one hundred unique works of art celebrating all the talented creatives of the OKC region. Get ready OKC because it will be another night to remember!

Until then, we will just have to relive this dreamy night in photos! Cheers!
